Happy post-Memorial Day! I’m back from the Public Relations Society of America Travel Conference in Aspen, CO, with lots of ideas and some new M.D. members. Welcome, Liliane Opsomer, Julie Dunn, Laurie Armstrong, Tammy Hagin, Kate Collins, Charles Mardiks, Matt Owen, Robert Deuel, and Vicky Nash.
Carolyn Koenig of Smart Meetings, Marc Boisclair of Connections (and more), and myself comprised the “Travel is Economic Stimulus” panel, which was chaired by Paul Garcia of Disney. We had a blast, and hopefully imparted some useful information.
I passed out buttons to M.D. members Brigitta Kroon-Fiorita, Liliane Opsomer, Pam Scott, Stephanie Heckathorne, and Lorie Juliano, but missed Bob Titley, Lindsey Brown, and Amy Larson. How lame am I! (Guys, your buttons will be in the mail.)
In honor of so many new members from the PR sector, I re-did the FAQ to reflect M.D.’s opportunities per sector. Here’s an example:
“I’m in public relations; how can Meetings Diva benefit me?
“As a PR professional your job is getting the word out about your clients. Usually, you contact publishing professionals, who send your information to their readers. But at M.D., you can upload your releases directly into the appropriate discussions, contact a writer (find them in the Ye Olde Writers Pub Group), or market yourself to prospective clients by pitching them ideas or demonstrating your proven results.”
Check out the expanded FAQ for info relating to your job, and feel free to email me at meetingsdiva@ymail.com if you have any questions or comments.
