Thanks Terri! I'm looking forward to seeing what knowledge I can derive from this for AV purposes...in accommodating both attendees AND speakers.

Glad you think so, Nina! We will be adding to it, I hope!

The checklist you've posted is comprehensive and most user-friendly. I'd be willing to assign this to an inexperienced committee member, participating on a site visit to ensure suitability to ADA requirements. I think they'd become an instant expert with this resource!

I also found a checklist for hotels, which I will also post (after I've had my coffee).

Good morning!
Since we're all friends of the ADA here, I thought it would be great if we had a copy. Here it is; and I will be posting it to The 411 tab later today.

Thank you so much for this helpful information. As a firm with a passion for social responsibility, we have had a marked interest in going above and beyond in ADA compliance from an AV perspective. (I should ad that I also have a personal desire to improve the situation, as my cousin is a paraplegic who speaks at events).
We've spent hours researching unique podium designs, special ramps and any other ways to accommodate our attendees with special needs. Hopefully the AHEAD information will help point me in the right direction!

Thanks Joan. We have seen vast improvements in live captioning as of late there are a couple of companies that produce LCD projectors with closed captioning decoders, which make it even easier to incorporate into any meeting.
